Hàng Xóm Tốt, knocking with a home-cooked meal

Hàng Xóm Tốt is a central kitchen cooking family meals for residents of premium apartment complexes, in the spirit of a good neighbour who cooks well and brings a plate over. Sinh Vũ built the name, the face and the app so the service knocks with warmth, not with a delivery.

The Hàng Xóm Tốt brand world: packaging, app and the warm mark

A hundred homes, one wall

An apartment tower holds hundreds of families living wall to wall, yet most of them have never met. The family meal, the thing that once bound a whole neighbourhood together, is now often a delivery box eaten alone in front of a screen. Hàng Xóm Tốt began from an old, warm idea: a good neighbour who cooks well and, once it is ready, brings a plate over.

The idea was lovely, but at the start it had no face. Sat beside dozens of food-delivery apps, it risked being read as just another lunchbox vendor, exactly what it did not want to be. Our job was to make people believe, from the name onward, that this is a neighbour and not a shop.

Not a shop, a neighbour

We did not position Hàng Xóm Tốt as a restaurant or a delivery brand. We positioned it exactly as its name says: the neighbour who can cook, and shares when the food is good. The difference is small in words but changes how the meal feels, people buy food from a shop, but receive a meal from a neighbour.

The whole positioning lands in one short line: Ăn ngon! Có hàng xóm! (Eat well! Have neighbours!). It sells two things at once, a good meal to eat and the neighbourly warmth that keeps you from feeling alone in a building of strangers. That line became the ruler for every later decision: whatever makes people feel close stays, whatever sounds like advertising goes.

A warm mark you can hold

The red heart in the logo is drawn in one unbroken stroke that curls inward into a spiral. Glance once and it is a heart; look again and it is a bowl of hot rice seen from above; look once more and it is a smile. Three warm meanings stacked in a single shape, with no caption needed.

The handwritten Hàng xóm tốt reads like a note taped to a neighbour's door, intimate and real. We let that heart-mark live as a whole family: a plum roundel here, a navy one there, a terracotta one next, each ringed by loose hand-drawn brushwork. So the brand can wear many moods across many towers and still be recognised at a glance.

The voice of someone familiar

Colour pulls Hàng Xóm Tốt off the beaten path. We avoided the cold blues most food apps lean on, choosing the warm plum-brown of a kitchen, washed in ivory and pricked with a chilli red. Peanuts, leaves and seeds are hand-drawn in an engraved style, so the packaging looks homemade rather than off a production line.

The writing speaks like someone leaning over the fence, too. Labels do not list ingredients coldly; they tell little stories: five-spice peanuts from Grandma Vân's family recipe, do enjoy them. Read a label and it feels like someone is inviting you, and that is the moment a service stops being a service.

Knocking through the screen

The ordering app was built to feel more like an invitation than a checkout. Open it and a resident is greeted by name, sees today's family meal laid out as warm cards, and picks a dish as lightly as nodding yes to a plate a neighbour brought over. Every tap keeps that familiar tone, so ordering a meal never feels like a transaction.

That warmth then rides the box to the door, and rides the corporate documents when Hàng Xóm Tốt sits down with a building's management board. Name card, letterhead and envelope carry the same warm mark, so a young startup can shake hands and look as steady and as trustworthy as the way it cooks.

Value

What Hàng Xóm Tốt gained was not a handsome logo but a hard-to-copy place to stand: in a tower where everyone is a stranger, one name that feels like the family next door. That warmth lives in the name, the mark and the voice, so it travels with the brand from one apartment block to the next without cooling into a faceless chain.

For a founder just starting out, that is the difference between a lunchbox app and a good neighbour, the kind residents wait all day for and investors look at and trust.

Where neighbourly warmth takes shape

A decent identity is only worth trusting once it becomes something you can hold: the meal box at the door, the peanut pack on the table, the app you open each evening. This is where Hàng Xóm Tốt stops being an idea and starts being a neighbour.
