The core principle is that the file must communicate everything the workshop needs without relying on verbal or phone exchanges. Missing any part of this, the workshop will have to guess or call back, and that is when errors begin to occur.

Canva files often export in RGB and lack technical layers, so you need to double-check before delivery. For packaging products with die-cut shapes, Canva is not suitable as it does not support professional dieline layers.
The die cut (dieline) is a technical drawing that shows the cutting lines, folding lines, and adhesive areas of the box or packaging before it becomes a finished product. You do not need to create it yourself but must confirm with the printing house or design unit that the dieline matches the cutting machine of that house. Using the wrong dieline with the machine will result in misaligned folds or gaps.
Record sufficient details: material and paper quantity, printing technique (offset, digital), number of colors (4-color CMYK or additional Pantone colors), post-printing processes (gloss lamination, matte lamination, foil stamping, embossing, spot UV), and expected print quantity. Missing any item will lead the workshop to fill it in according to their habits, not according to your preferences.
